Orientation sessions are posted in NEMO and typically happen twice a month. Access requirements vary by tool, process, and safety category.
New users: the access path
Access to the Conconi Family Biodevice Foundry is managed through a structured user program designed to ensure safety, efficiency, and project success.
Step 1 for all new users: complete the intake form before emailing the team. This helps route your request and start the onboarding process.

Design service
Design service is primarily available through the rapid prototype lab for users who need help turning a part or device idea into a workable prototype design. Design work now needs to be submitted through the job request form so it can be reviewed and added to the Kanban queue.

Training
After intake, new users receive an invitation to make a NEMO account. Use NEMO to check the orientation schedule and sign up for a convenient session; orientations typically happen twice a month. Additional training requirements depend on the tools and process categories you plan to use, including cleanroom processes, wet chemistry, or characterization. Some tools may be staff-operated; others may become self-serve after training. Machine shop work is fee-for-service and is performed by staff after scope and cost review.
